  • How can I place an order?
    You can order in two ways: Order from our online shop: Browse our catalogue of shop cakes. Select your cake, personalize it with add-ons or a message, and place your order online. Most cakes require 48-hour notice, unless otherwise specified. On occasion, we may be able to fulfill orders within 24 hours—please call 07700 3660 31 to check availability before placing an order. Request a bespoke cake: Submit a bespoke request via our contact form. You will receive a response within a few hours with price quotes, design ideas, and availability. Once confirmed, payment can be made online to secure your order.
  • What are your shop hours?
    Our pickup hours are: Monday – Friday: 8 AM – 6 PM Saturday & Sunday: 8 AM – 2 PM For transportation, cakes should be kept cool and level. For stacked cakes, we recommend bringing extra help to hold them securely. Whenever possible, take your cake directly to the event venue. Cake transportation and storage instructions will be provided at pickup.
  • Do you offer delivery?
    Yes! We are based in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands and offer island-wide delivery for £5. For hand-decorated cookies, we also offer postal delivery to the UK and Ireland—please email danielleschausberger@gmail.com to inquire.
  • How do I make a payment?
    All payments are made via bank transfer. Payment details will be provided once your order is confirmed.
  • Do you accommodate dietary requirements?
    While we take great care in handling ingredients, please note that most bakers do not operate in certified "free-from" environments. We can exclude specific ingredients upon request. However, we cannot guarantee that trace amounts of allergens (e.g., nuts, gluten) are not present. If you or your guests have severe allergies, please consider this before ordering. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure the cake is suitable for those who will consume it.
  • The cake I want isn’t on your website. What can I do?
    No problem! Contact The Cake Shop via our contact form, and we’ll be happy to provide a quote for a bespoke creation. All of our cakes are made to order, meaning no two cakes are exactly the same—each one is customized to your message, color scheme, and design preferences. If you have a picture or sketch of your desired cake, feel free to email it to us at danielleschausberger@gmail.com.
  • How far in advance should I place my cake order?
    Our cakes are handcrafted with care. Many designs can be made within 24 hours. More intricate cakes require up to 7 days.
  • Cake Sizes & Pricing
    For all custom inquiries, please email danielleschausberger@gmail.com and include the following details: Your name and contact information Event date Cake type and reference photos (if available) Preferred cake flavor Budget (optional) – If your budget and design don’t align, we may suggest alternative options.
  • Do your cakes freeze well?
    Yes! Our cakes freeze beautifully for up to three months.
  • How long do your cakes last?
    Our chocolate, vanilla sponge, red velvet, and carrot cakes stay fresh for up to five days when stored in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Once cut, store the cake in an airtight container to maintain freshness. Important: Do not refrigerate our cakes, as this affects their texture and quality. Leftover cake can be frozen, but please note that the icing may be slightly impaired after thawing.
  • How big are your cookies?
    Our cookies measure approximately 8-10 cm in diameter and are individually heat-sealed to preserve freshness.
  • How far in advance should I place my cookie order?
    Custom hand-decorated cookie orders must be placed at least 7 days in advance.
  • How long do your cookies stay fresh?
    Once baked, cooled, iced, and sealed in cellophane bags, our cookies stay fresh for 4-6 weeks. The royal icing helps retain moisture, allowing them to last a long time at room temperature.
